SAN FRANCISCO – The IJ Global Project Finance & Infrastructure Journal recently named Duke Energy’s Emerald State Solar PV Portfolio financing as its “North America Solar Deal of the Year” in 2016. A Pillsbury team led by San Francisco Finance partner Thomas Gump represented Duke Energy in a deal that was among “the best in energy and infrastructure.”
The financing for a portfolio of 22 solar projects in North Carolina closed in August 2016 and involved a $333 million term loan facility and a $28 million letter of credit facility with MUFG Union Bank as the lead arranger.
Along with Gump, the Pillsbury team members included partners Jeff Knight, Michael Hindus, Jim Chudy, Bill Kurz, Peter Hunt and Jeff Merrifield; senior counsel Andy Weissman, counsel Ada Wall, associates Katie Vorhis, Alyssa Fiedler, Alexandra Brandt, and Brendan Hennessey; and attorney Stephen Hargraves.
