Noting the melting pot that is Southern California, the Los Angeles Business Journal named Pillsbury partners Stacie Yee and Mark Jones to its list of stellar minority and LGBTQ lawyers in the region. According to the Business Journal, they belong to a list of attorneys who are considered to be particularly impactful on the local legal scene while serving as trusted advisors.

In its profile, the Business Journal reported that in addition to being named Pillsbury’s Executive Chair of Diversity & Inclusion last June, Stacie Yee maintains an active employment litigation practice. Recently, Yee served as lead counsel defending a government contractor client against allegations alleging unpaid overtime. After successfully moving to transfer the case to Maryland, the case settled favorably for the client on an individual plaintiff, non-class basis. She also served as lead counsel representing a film industry trade association in defending against a wage and hour class and representative action alleging noncompliant meal breaks and associate claims. The representative claim has since been dismissed and Yee’s team successfully compelled the matter to arbitration.

The Business Journal noted that Mark Jones is a recognized authority in the design and administration of compensation and benefit programs for senior executives and other employees. Among his recent matters was his work representing AT&T Services in the multibillion-dollar acquisition of various providers of entertainment content for its subsidiary, Warner Media. He also advised Chevron Corporation on the global rollout of its stock incentive plan into 28 jurisdictions and restructured the $460 million pension plan of a major defense contractor to reduce and stabilize annual funding expenses.
