Pillsbury is proud to sponsor the 24th-annual Stimson Medal Ceremony with the New York Bar Association. The awards ceremony is named after Henry L. Stimson, a founding partner of Pillsbury legacy firm Winthrop Stimson.

Stimson served as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York from 1906 through 1909. He was known for his integrity, fairness and public service, setting the standard for all U.S. Attorney offices. He went on to serve as Secretary of State to President Hoover and Secretary of War to Presidents Taft, Franklin D. Roosevelt and Truman.

The Stimson Medal was created to honor Stimson’s memory by awarding outstanding Assistant U.S. Attorneys in the Southern District and Eastern District of New York. This year’s award winners include: Margaret Garnett (Criminal Division) and Lara Eshkenazi (Civil Division) of the Southern District, and John Durham (Criminal Division) and Brian Morris (Civil Division) of the Eastern District.

The Stimson Medal Ceremony is Tuesday, June 7 at 6 p.m. in the Meeting Hall of the Association, located at 42 West 44th St. in New York. Pillsbury Litigation partner Mark Hellerer serves as Chairman of the New York City Bar Association Stimson Medal Committee, and retired Litigation partner and senior counsel Stephen Weiner also is a member of the committee.
