Daily Journal, described a California’s largest legal news provider, has chosen Victaulic Company’s $55 million win over AIG as its “Top Plaintiffs’ Verdict by Dollar” for 2015, hailing Insurance Recovery & Advisory partners Joseph Jean and Colin Kemp for what it calls the “legal win of their careers.”

In its feature, the publication chronicles the six-week jury trial, which took place in Alameda County and concerned seven product liability claims for which AIG denied coverage. At the trial’s culmination in August, Victaulic was awarded $9.3 million in compensatory damages and fees and $46 million in punitive damages.

Although AIG is appealing the verdict, Kemp told Daily Journal he is pleased with the outcome.

“After what felt like an endless battle, it feels good to earn a major win,” he said.
