Manufacturers of Internet connected devices who retain communicability with the device post sale are facing challenges with making disclosures and obtaining effective consent from their consumers. But the proliferation of devices with wireless connectivity to the Internet presents challenges to every business beyond just having a Bring Your Own Device policy:

  • Are you tracking your employees' locations using GPS technology in their phones or cars?
  • Can the camera feature on employee laptops be used surreptitiously?
  • Are employee work hours and activities monitored based on scanning their RFID security badge?
  • Are employees' Internet connected devices connected to, interfacing with or being controlled from company systems or equipment, and should they be?

During this webinar, we will explore the advantages offered by the Internet of Things and weigh them against strategies needed to address compliance requirements.
