Christine Mastromonaco counsels clients in a variety of industries, including tech, retail, healthcare and financial services on data optimization strategies, consumer privacy, and regulatory defense matters. She is a trusted advisor on the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other U.S. state and federal privacy laws. Christine has previously represented financial services and fintech clients in state and federal courts in a wide array of commercial and class action matters.

Christine negotiates data privacy agreements, digital advertising contracts and data security agreements, and assists clients in operationalizing requirements, such as global opt-out preference. In response to the surge in litigation under the California Invasion of Privacy Act (CIPA) and other related statutes, Christine counsel clients on litigation avoidance strategies. Her thoughtful approach to counseling clients is informed by her background as a litigator. Having seen where disputes can arise, she is well positioned to help clients anticipate legal risk to mitigate the possibility of litigation.

- Served as legal secondee for large social media company. Advised client on matters concerning consumer privacy, content moderation, messaging data, children’s privacy and regulatory briefings.
- Worked with major retailer in complying with injunction following settlement with California Attorney General for claims relating to CCPA and Unfair Competition Law (UCL).
- Advised major retail client on matters related to children’s privacy and age verification requirements and related technologies.
