Jason Drogin Atwood assists clients on a broad range of issues associated with environmental and energy law.
Jason advises clients in connection with the acquisition, development and financing of energy and infrastructure projects, as well as environmental due diligence and permitting requirements for clients involved in complex transactions. At law school, Jason was involved with the Environmental Law and Policy Clinic, assisting on issues related to the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act.
Representative Experience
- Advising a major utility on the development of three different new nuclear projects being developed to power data centers.
- Advising NANO Nuclear on its collaboration with the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in connection with the joint development and proposed deployment of the KRONOS MMR, a 45 MW thermal/15 MW electric micro-modular reactor, on the university’s campus.
- Analyzed environmental permitting and energy-associated risks in relation to a proposed data center financing project in New Jersey.

- Conducted regulatory analysis of Nevada’s electricity market to advise a critical minerals infrastructure company on a large-scale solar and battery storage system project.
- Advised energy and commodities company in the drafting and submission of Maritime Administration reports as required under the Jones Act waiver.
- Assisted in the preparation and review of contracts for the sale of renewable natural gas and associated environmental credits.
