Shani Rivaux has a diversified practice that extends to a wide range of sectors, including representing a tobacco company in defending 50+ cases in Florida.

Shani handles high stakes mass tort litigation and complex commercial disputes, representing clients in arbitration and federal and state courts, at both the trial and appellate levels. In Shani's appellate practice, she has co-authored numerous briefs addressing complex legal issues.

Shani also has comprehensive experience in defending product liability lawsuits. She has handled approximately 55 lawsuits in this sector in differing stages of litigation, ranging from pre-trial, trial and post-trial phases.

  • Represented a tobacco company in defending 50+ cases in Florida, in various stages of litigation including handling and developing strategies for pre-trial investigations, fact and expert depositions, dispositive motions, pre-trial motions and trial.
  • Represented a major manufacturer in defending against multiple matters arising from property damage in product liability litigation and arbitration.
  • Represented developer and owner of spinal surgery company in trial involving business theft and trade secrets, which was affirmed twice on appeal and resulted in a judgment of over $370 million. Bailey, et. al. v. Laser Spine Institute, LLC, et. al.
  • Represented a family in successful Ninth Circuit appeal which sought the return of Nazi-looted art from the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum in Spain.
