Shruti will speak on the panel, “AI in the Workplace: Managing Bias, Privacy and Compliance Risk.” For this session, panelists will use practical scenarios involving AI-assisted hiring, employee monitoring and productivity analytics to examine the discrimination, privacy and compliance risks that arise when employers use AI tools.

The discussion will address developments in U.S., EU and UK law, including litigation over algorithmic bias and emerging requirements for transparency and human oversight. Panelists will also explore practical steps for evaluating vendors, limiting data collection and building safeguards into workplace AI programs.

After completing this session, participants will be able to:

  • identify how AI tools used in hiring, employee monitoring and productivity analysis are regulated, and where they may create litigation or enforcement risk;
  • recognize bias and privacy risks and apply practical approaches to transparency, data minimization and meaningful human oversight in employment decisions; and
  • use a practical issue-spotting tip sheet to assess vendor diligence, notice obligations, governance safeguards and other compliance considerations before deploying workplace AI systems.
