Los Angeles office Managing Partner Kimberly Buffington and firmwide Managing Partner Edward Perron have been named to Lawyers of Color’s fifth Power List, which is presented with the support of the Diverse Partners Network. The Power List recognizes the most influential minority attorneys and allies in the nation, including general counsel, managing partners and law school deans, as well as legal media and nonprofit leaders.
The awards will be presented at a reception at the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Washington, DC, on February 26. Honorees will also be profiled in the organization’s Power Issue.
Perron is Pillsbury’s firmwide Managing Partner overseeing the day-to-day operations of the firm. In his legal practice, he advises clients on legal issues arising in connection with mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, strategic investments and the distribution of products in the U.S.
Buffington has successfully litigated consumer class actions and complex intellectual property, insurance coverage and commercial cases for more than 20 years. Co-leader of Pillsbury’s Internet and Social Media team, she regularly represents technology companies, startups and other businesses in social media and copyright-related matters.
Lawyers of Color is devoted to promoting diversity in the legal profession and advancing democracy and equality in marginalized communities. The organization celebrates attorneys of color and conducts research and studies regarding the intersection of the legal profession and social justice.
