Pillsbury is advising Jollibee Foods Corp. on its intent to purchase a 45 percent stake in the Smashburger brand for $100 million.

Smashburger, a Denver-based restaurant chain, is known for using fresh and not frozen beef. The reinforced strategic partnership will allow Smashburger to continue its focus on growth and brings it the opportunity to sell its products in Southeast Asia, according to a release.

Jollibee bought its first portion of the company in 2015. Jollibee operates the largest food service network in the Philippines, including 2,875 restaurant outlets under the Jollibee brand along with many others, including Red Ribbon and Burger King.

Anna Graves, a Corporate partner in Pillsbury’s Los Angeles office, led the deal. Other team members included San Francisco Corporate partner Bruce McDiarmid, Litigation partner Michael Sibarium, and associates Evan Storm and Karen Chan.
