Corporate partner Riaz Karamali led a Pillsbury team representing MycoTechnology Inc. in its $23.5 million Series C financing round.
Based in Aurora, Colorado, MycoTechnology is a start-up that makes sweeteners and protein products from fungi. Its products include PureTaste, which is made from mushroom roots, and ClearTaste, which aims to curb bitter tastes and acts as a substitute for sugar.
The company previously raised $42 million in a Series B financing last year, and it raised $9.2 million in a Series A round in 2015. For more on those rounds, see here and here.
Erin Jennings, an associate in Palo Alto, worked alongside Karamali on the Series C financing round.
