Pillsbury has announced the arrival of trial lawyer Paul Fraidenburgh as a Litigation partner in San Diego. Fraidenburgh was previously a shareholder at Buchalter APC, where he served as Chair of Litigation for the Orange County and San Diego offices.

A seasoned trial lawyer and business litigator, Fraidenburgh handles a wide array of high-stakes commercial litigation and arbitration, with particular experience in Technology and Real Estate and Construction industry disputes. He regularly represents clients ranging from government agencies to Fortune 100 companies and serves as lead trial counsel in California and beyond. Fraidenburgh has also prevailed on behalf of clients in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and in State Supreme Court matters. In 2018, the Daily Journal named Fraidenburgh a “Top 40 Under 40” lawyer—one of just 20 lawyers selected by the publication from Southern California—and he was selected to the American Law Institute in 2022.

“Paul is an accomplished and confident litigator who adds significant knowledge and depth to key aspects of our practice,” said Deborah Baum, Pillsbury’s global head of Litigation. “His arrival also expands and enhances our flourishing San Diego office, where clients are increasingly turning to Pillsbury for sophisticated disputes counsel. Paul’s excellent track record in court and outstanding reputation locally make him a great fit to support those evolving client needs.”

In recent months, Pillsbury has hired numerous high-profile litigation partners in offices all over the United States. Those additions include the Honorable Rolando Acosta in New York, former Presiding Justice of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department; veteran trial litigator Patrick Hammon in Silicon Valley from McManis Faulkner; cross-border investigations and disputes lawyer Adam Goldberg in San Francisco from Simpson Thacher & Bartlett; and, most recently, former Meta Director and Associate General Counsel for Integrity Anthony Phillips in Washington, DC.

“I have been very impressed with all the Pillsbury lawyers I have met so far and am honored to be counted among the steady stream of highly regarded practitioners that have recently joined the firm,” Fraidenburgh said. “Pillsbury has a storied reputation, a renowned litigation group, and—as demonstrated by its March opening of a brand-new office here—remains firmly committed to supporting clients in the San Diego area. I’ve no doubt my clients will benefit greatly from Pillsbury’s exceptional platform.”

Pillsbury’s award-winning team of more than 200 litigators works with clients around the world to help them successfully resolve disputes, in trial and out of court, at home and in jurisdictions around the globe. The firm has garnered dozens of top-tier recognitions as a result of its exceptional litigation prowess and was most recently recognized as one of the most feared law firms to come up against in litigation by BTI Consulting Group.
