The Deal has shortlisted two Pillsbury-led transactions as potential Deals of the Year for the Private Equity, Technology, and Media & Telecom large cap categories. In addition, Silicon Valley-based Corporate partner Allison Leopold Tilley is notably one of only four individuals nominated for the Technology, Media & Telecom Dealmaker of the Year Award.

The two shortlisted Deals of the Year are:  

 SYNNEX $7.2 Billion Merger with Tech Data (Private Equity Deal of the Year – Large Cap)

  • Led by Allison Leopold Tilley and Christina Pearson, a team of Pillsbury lawyers advised long-standing client SYNNEX Corporation in an agreement to merge with Tech Data Corporation, a portfolio company of Apollo Global Management Inc., in a transaction valued at $7.2 billion. The combined company will provide customers and vendors with expansive reach across products, services and geographies to accelerate technology adoption. Read more here.

Marvell’s Acquisition of Inphi (Technology, Media & Telecom Deal of the Year – Large Cap)

  • Led by Allison Leopold Tilley, Pillsbury is representing long-standing client Inphi Corporation, a leader in high-speed data movement, in its announced sale to Marvell Technology Group Ltd., a leader in infrastructure semiconductor solutions, in a cash and stock transaction with an implied valuation of approximately $10 billion. The combination of the two companies will create a U.S. semiconductor company with an enterprise value of approximately $40 billion. The transaction will combine Marvell’s storage, networking, processor and security portfolio with Inphi’s leading electro-optics interconnect platform to position the combined company for end-to-end technology leadership in data infrastructure. The shortlisted 2021 Deal of the Year is: 

T-Mobile’s Acquisition of Sprint (Deal of the Year, Technology, Media & Telecom Deal of the Year – Large Cap)

Led by Stephen Amdur, Pillsbury advised Sprint Corporation’s lead financial adviser The Raine Group LLC in the telecom giant’s announced merger with T-Mobile U.S. In April, 2020 T-Mobile announced its acquisition of Sprint from SoftBank Group Corp. for $26.5 billion. The transaction implies an enterprise value for Sprint of $59 billion, including assumed debt and approximately $146 billion for the combined company.
