International Trade Practice Earns Dual Recognition from WorldECR Magazine

In its write-up of Pillsbury’s U.S. sanctions team, WorldECR noted the firm’s “deep experience advising clients on compliance with economic sanctions and embargoes imposed by the US government under the International Economic Emergency Powers Act and the Trading with the Enemy Act, including sanctions regulations administered by the Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) with respect to countries such as Cuba, Iran, Sudan, Syria, Russia, Crimea (Ukraine) and North Korea, as well as terrorists, drug traffickers and other designated entities.” Highlighted engagements included advising Chevron on a wide range of international trade-related matters, including economic sanctions, export controls (including technology transfers, encryption and deemed exports), anti-boycott, and customs matters; representing a European bank in relation to enhancements to US and EU sanctions and anti-money laundering procedures for operations in multiple jurisdictions; and counselling a nuclear power company active in Turkey on US and EU sanctions relating to Russia.
