Following its initial $165 million Series E financing round in June 2022, long-time Pillsbury client Shield AI recently secured an additional raise of $60 million in equity capital—closing the round at $225 million.

The additional funds were contributed by the United States Technology Fund, or USIT.

With the intention of building the world’s best artificial intelligence pilot, Shield AI’s Hivemind software enables intelligent teams of aircraft, military and commercial, to perform all different types of missions. While the software engages advanced algorithms for planning, mapping, etc., full autonomy is enabled through the program on the aircraft.

The San Diego-based Pillsbury deal team included Corporate partners Christian Salaman and Jason Stirling and associate Kit Ryan.
