Corporate teams from Pillsbury’s Silicon Valley office advised in two recent tech-industry acquisitions, reports the Daily Journal.

In a deal announced Nov. 27, McAfee has acquired Skyhigh Networks, Inc. a designer of cloud-access products related to security, compliance and governance for clients across the financial, health care and manufacturing sectors, among others. Skyhigh and McAfee said the acquisition will enable investment and growth in a key area of concern for customers, allowing them to modernize their cybersecurity and data protection protocols as they shift to the cloud.

Corporate partner Allison Leopold Tilley led the Pillsbury team that advised Skyhigh in the transaction along with counsel Gurpreet Bal. Also on the team were partners Jorge del Calvo, Cindy Schlaefer and David Jakopin; and associates Gabrielle Grinberg and Matthew Ryan.

Also in Silicon Valley, a Pillsbury team led by corporate partner James Masetti advised semiconductor technology developer Sigma Designs in its $282 million sale to Silicon Labs. Because Sigma Designs’ products, such as its Z-Wave technology, are designed for the internet of things and are typically used in connected home devices, the transaction allows Silicon Labs to expand its wireless connectivity portfolio and its connected-home customer base, the companies said.

Working with Masetti on the Pillsbury team that advised Sigma were partners Cindy Schlaefer, George Willman and Marcia Pope; counsel Matthew Desharnais; and associates Mediha Ali, Omar Bailony and Matthew Ryan.
