Janine Stanisz is a litigator with a nationwide practice who has spent her career representing corporate policyholders in insurance recovery matters. She handles complex insurance disputes across industries and specializes in coverage under commercial general liability (CGL), property and casualty, and directors and officers (D&O) policies.

Janine understands her client’s business, risk appetite and commercial priorities. Known for her strategic insight and practical approach, Janine designs a comprehensive claim response strategy with her client’s objectives in mind. Whether engaged pre-litigation to advise on claim preparation and negotiations, or as lead counsel in court when coverage is denied, she advocates for policyholders to secure the coverage they paid for and holds insurers accountable. 

Representative Experience

  • Represented manufacturer pursuing insurance coverage for class actions and mass torts alleging bodily injury from product use, recovering in excess of $80 million across multi-year CGL insurance program.
  • Represented aviation parts distributor and operator for losses incurred following a construction contamination event. Prevailed on summary judgment in the Eastern District of Virginia (the “rocket docket”) and obtained sanctions against insurer following evidentiary hearing for spoliation of evidence and discovery violations.  
  • Represented global renewable energy company in coverage dispute relating to transformer breakdown and hedging costs.
