Tammy Chang represents large institutional investors in all aspects of their investment programs, including structuring and negotiating investments in private equity and hedge funds, separate accounts and commingled vehicles.

Tammy represents public pension plans in hedge fund and private equity investments, with a focus on acquisitions and multi-party large-scale dispositions of private equity, real estate and hedge fund investments in the secondary market. She also has extensive experience in private mergers and acquisitions within a wide-range of industries, including industrial manufacturing, retail, restaurant and beverage, and entertainment and media.

Representative Experience

  • Represented CalPERS in the largest secondary sale transaction ever, which was a divestiture of $6 billion in private equity stakes from the fund’s $50 billion private equity portfolio.
  • Represented CalPERS in several secondary acquisitions and dispositions involving interests in over 100 investment vehicles and over $5B of its private equity and real estate investment portfolio.
  •  Represents the NYC Public Pension Funds, CalPERS, Missouri Education Pension Trust and other large institutional investors in connection with investments in private equity funds, with individual commitments ranging from $100M to $1B.
