A team of Pillsbury lawyers advised client The Giving Block, a company that enables charitable organizations to receive cryptocurrency donations, in its acquisition by Shift4, a payment and commerce solution provider, for up to $300 million (comprised of cash and stock and including earnout potential).

The merger combines the leading cryptocurrency donation platform with the scale and reach of a global payments network.  Immediately following the merger, The Giving Block and Shift4 launched the largest ever crypto philanthropy campaign series with millions in funds being matched by Shift4 founder and commercial astronaut Jared Isaacman, according to a company press release.

The Pillsbury team was led by Corporate partner Steven Kaplan with partners Nora Burke, Jessica Lutrin and Michael Heuga, counsel Justin Bintrim, Lindsey Livingston and David Johnson, senior associate Kevin Miel, and associates Pranav Gangele and Ava Gerami.
