A team of Pillsbury lawyers advised Arduino, a premier open-source hardware and software company, on entering into an agreement to be acquired by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., a developer and supplier of integrated circuits and system software.
This strategic acquisition will bring together Qualcomm’s advanced technologies with Arduino’s dynamic ecosystem of developers, educators and innovators—accelerating the development of smart, connected solutions across a range of industries. Under the agreement, Arduino will continue to operate under its own brand, maintain its open-source mission and support a broad range of microcontrollers and microprocessors from multiple vendors.
As part of the announcement, the company launched Arduino UNO Q, its first “dual-brain” board powered by the Qualcomm Dragonwing™ platform. Designed to bridge high-performance computing with real-time control, the board enables “AI in a blink” for faster, smarter prototyping.
The new board debuts alongside Arduino App Lab, a new, integrated development environment unifying Real-time OS, Linux, Python and AI workflows—making development faster and easier.
