Pillsbury advised long-term client Bilt, a neighborhood commerce and rewards platform, on its acquisition of LAVA, a technology platform powering loyalty, membership and customer experiences for major sports and entertainment organizations.

Bilt’s neighborhood commerce network connects more than seven million members across residential communities with more than 50,000 merchant partners. The acquisition brings LAVA’s technology and relationships with 56 professional sports franchises across the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL and MLS into the network.

LAVA helps sports teams and entertainment venues recognize customers, personalize benefits, manage loyalty programs and deliver real-time experiences. Its more than 300 technology connectors integrate with existing ticketing, payment and other business systems.

Bilt also plans to combine its AI capabilities with LAVA’s Realtime AI™ technology to deliver personalized benefits and offers across businesses using both companies’ existing data and systems.

The acquisition advances Bilt’s expansion beyond housing, with plans to connect sports fans with neighborhood businesses and extend loyalty benefits beyond game day. LAVA’s capabilities are expected to be integrated into Bilt over time.
