Pillsbury represented Orkes, the team behind creating Netflix’s Conductor, an open-source project for microservices orchestration and workflow, in its $9.3 million seed round co-led by Battery Ventures and Vertex Ventures. Angel investors including Mahendra Ramsinghani and Gokul Rajaram and senior executives from tech companies including Amazon and Facebook also participated in the round.

Orkes is a cloud-hosted version of the tool based on Conductor that will fuel the continued growth of the open-source Conductor community. The founding team brings engineering and product leadership experience from Netflix, Google, AWS, and Microsoft Azure.

The Pillsbury team was led by Emerging Growth & Venture Capital Leader Stanley Pierson and included Corporate senior associate Mediha Ali and associate Grace Lee.
