A team of Pillsbury lawyers advised Silicon Valley investment advising outfit Financial Engines Inc. as it acquired fellow investment advising company The Mutual Fund Store. The companies announced the $560 million transaction Nov. 5. According to the announcement, the deal comprises $250 million in cash and 10 million shares of Financial Engines common stock, and the resulting company will have no debt upon the deal’s completion.

Silicon Valley Emerging Growth & Venture Capital partner Jorge del Calvo led the Pillsbury team, which included partners Davina Kaile, Brian Wainwright and David Jaffer along with counsel Christina Pearson, and associates Lisa Yun, Khan Shing, and Matthew Ryan. Additional assistance came from San Francisco partners Patrick Devine, André Brewster and Bruce McDiarmid, along with Jeffrey Jacobi and Ada Wall. San Francisco and Silicon Valley partners David Jakopin and Craig Becker aided the effort with Laura Latham, a partner in San Diego.
