With the second Trump administration’s shift toward “reliable,” “baseload” energy sources and the rapidly increasing U.S. electricity demand, there is tremendous national interest in nuclear energy as a critical component of America’s long-term energy strategy.

At the same time, recent changes in U.S. investment law have opened new opportunities for foreign investment across strategic sectors, including major energy and infrastructure initiatives. Notably, the ADVANCE Act of 2024 revised U.S. law to allow for increased foreign participation in the U.S. nuclear sector by allied nations such as Japan. These reforms align with the recently announced U.S.-Japan trade agreement, which not only deepens strategic collaboration but is poised to lead to significant Japanese investment in U.S. projects, particularly in nuclear and advanced energy technologies.

The webinar will include key changes in investment laws, such as removal of the foreign ownership cap, and how the U.S.-Japan trade agreement opens doors for Japanese companies interested in investing in U.S. projects.
