Eric Gold represents construction industry clients and corporate policyholders in a wide range of insurance coverage and construction disputes, using his experience and knowledge to help clients access their insurance coverage and resolve claims.

Eric has in-depth experience analyzing, litigating and resolving insurance coverage and commercial construction disputes solely on behalf of corporate policyholders. Eric has led teams handling a broad array of insurance matters related to construction defects, subcontractor defaults, project delays, design issues, mold and catastrophic property losses. Eric’s substantial experience includes claims and litigation under builder’s risk, CGL, subcontractor default, professional, pollution, commercial property, business interruption, and other insurance policies. Eric also advises clients concerning the procurement and renewal of insurance and other risk management issues that arise outside of litigation.

  • Represented multiple general contractors in arbitrations, negotiations, and mediations regarding coverage under Subcontractor Default Insurance policies issued by various carriers.
  • Representing CBG Building Company through a jury trial against its pollution liability insurer in connection with a $6 million dispute arising from a large, multi-family residential construction project. The jury awarded CBG 100% of requested damages.
  • Represented an industrial and energy contractor involving insurance for more than $200 million in claims filed by the owners of a natural gas storage cavern complex related to allegedly defective equipment.

  • Represented owner seeking coverage under a Subcontractor Default Insurance policy pursuant to a Scheduled Entity Endorsement. Successfully arbitrated the dispute resulting in a finding that the owner must be deemed the insured under the policy.
  • Represented contractor in connection with a $10 million builders risk claim for property damage, delay, and lost revenue arising from significant damage caused by Hurricane Harvey in Texas.
  • Represented contractor in connection with significant water intrusion insurance claims related to the Houston Methodist Hospital - Walter Tower.
  • Represented a New York building owner in connection with property damage and business income losses of approximately $150 million resulting from Superstorm Sandy.
  • Represented multiple general contractors in coverage disputes involving claims for property damage, personal injury, and delay under builders risk and liability policies, from initial claim preparation through litigation or alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
