Two teams of Pillsbury lawyers were recently recognized for their work serving as counsel to Grupo Televisa, S.A.B., as well as The Raine Group, when combining content and media assets with Univision Holdings, Inc. to create the largest Spanish-language media company in the world: Televisa-Univision.
The teams were jointly honored by Latin Lawyer at their 17th annual Deal of the Year Awards in São Paulo.
Pillsbury advised Televisa on regulatory matters while a separate team advised investor The Raine Group in connection with its investment. The Pillsbury team advising Televisa on the merger was led by Scott Flick, with Steve Becker, Lauren Lynch Flick, Jessica Nyman and Simone Wood. The Pillsbury team advising Raine on its investment was led by Stephen Amdur and Veronica Nunn, with Jarrod Murphy, Nora Burke and Juan Pablo Cordon.
