A team of Pillsbury lawyers led by partner Jarrod D. Murphy advised Ullico Infrastructure Fund (UIF) on the acquisition, through its portfolio company Triton Utilities, Inc., of Michigan American Water Company. Renamed as Upper Michigan Water Company upon the closing of the transaction, the company owns, operates and maintains a water production and distribution system in Michigan’s upper peninsula. The acquisition represents an important step in expanding the footprint of UIF’s existing water utility platform.

UIF currently has over $4 billion in investor commitments, with more than 20 portfolio investments across water, wastewater, telecommunications, electricity transmission, power generation, transportation and gas transmission sub-sectors.

In addition to Murphy, the Pillsbury deal team included Corporate counsel Drew Simon-Rooke and associates Juan Pablo Cordon and Alexandra Stephanos; Executive Compensation & Benefits partner Jessica Lutrin and associate Ena Kaur; Employment law special counsel Andrea R. Milano; Environmental & Natural Resources partner Anne Idsal Austin and senior associate Ashleigh Myers; Real Estate partner Caroline A. Harcourt and associate Natalie S. Starkman; and Tax partner Nora E. Burke.
