Following its recognition by The Deal as Private Equity Deal of the Year, Law.com has also awarded the sale of Chelsea Football Club—advised by Pillsbury, Northridge Law and Simmons & Simmons—as M&A Team of the Year (Large Deal - £1bn or more) for their 13th British Legal Awards.
Law.com acknowledged the Chelsea FC transaction as “the largest, most technically complex and fast-moving M&A transaction in the history of sport.” Valuing the sale at £4.25 billion, the deal was completed in just three months and closed in May 2022.
