Nick advises a mix of corporates (private and public) and private equity sponsors on a wide range of matters from acquisitions and follow-on investments, disposals, restructurings, and equity investments across many industries, including energy, metals and mining, financial services, technology, telecoms, pharmaceutical, infrastructure and retail.
Nick spent nine years in the Moscow office of a leading international law firm and has significant experience in emerging markets, managing complicated multijurisdictional transactions (in particular joint ventures) and resolving high-stakes shareholder disputes.
Companies Nick has represented in substantial matters include AAR, the Alfa Group, Baring Vostok, Basic Element, Conagra, Eldorado, Evraz, Framatome, Hachette Livre, JTC Plc, the LetterOne Group, Macquarie, Rosneft and Winter Capital.

- Advising the Alfa Group on the formation of the LetterOne Group, a $30 billion investment structure for holding technology, oil and gas, and other assets.
- Advising Altimo on the formation of VimpelCom, Ltd. by merger of Altimo's and Telenor's respective holdings in VimpelCom and Kyivstar valued at $24 billion.
- Advising CIS Natural Resources Fund on its $275 million acquisition of a 36.6 interest in GRK Bistrinskoye, a major Russian mining company, from MMC Norilsk Nickel and related joint venture arrangements.

- Advising Baring Vostok, the leading Russian private equity firm, on investments (and follow-on investments) including A5 Group (pharmaceutical), Busfor (ticketing platform), Gallery Media (advertising) and Carprice (car re-sales).
- Advising Bridgestone in connection with the ¥37.5 billion (US$400 million) joint venture with Mitsubishi to build a radial tire plant in the Ulyanovsk Region of Russia, Bridgestone's first tire plant in Russia and CIS.
- Advising CEECAT Capital on its investment into Irrico Holdings Limited, a Russian agriculture joint venture.
- Advising Altimo on its $23.8 billion joint venture with Telenor to combine their respective Russian (Vimpelcom) and Ukrainian (Kyivstar) mobile telephone assets and to settle outstanding shareholder disputes.
- Advising the Eldorado Group on the formation of the largest retail consumer electronics group with the PPF Group and two years later advising Igor Yakovlev on the sale of his 50% stake in the Eldorado to the PPF Group.
- Advising the Alfa Group on its $1.1 billion sale of a 25% interest in CTC Media Inc. to Telcrest Investments Ltd.
