Sunwave, an industry-leading SaaS platform, has partnered with Level Equity, a private investment firm focused on outstanding growth opportunities. This marks Sunwave’s second investment, following its initial investment by Pillsbury client Blueprint Equity, a private equity firm based in San Diego.

Sunwave helps substance use disorder treatment and behavioral health providers deliver better patient care. The company plans to use the investment funds by expanding product development, engineering and customer service teams as well as tremendously expanding sales and marketing efforts. 

Together with Blueprint Equity and Level Equity, Sunwave is poised to acquire more market share and continue delivering best-in-class technology. 

The Pillsbury team was led by San Diego-based Corporate partner Christian Salaman, Corporate senior associate Lindsey Livingston and associate Patrick Dolan. Tax partner Nora Burke assisted the team on Tax related matters.

Pillsbury is a leader of venture capital and M&A for Software as a Service (SaaS) financings, especially with ties to San Diego. Earlier this year, Salaman represented leading SaaS provider Brokermint in its acquisition by BoomTown, as well as separate SaaS provider in its financing with a leading growth equity firm. In 2020, Salaman represented SaaS provider MemComputing in its multi-million dollar investment, and Cortechs.ai in its merger with HealthLytix, and RevWork (fka Lead Inclusively) in its $1.5 million funding round. In 2019, Salaman led a series of SaaS financings including a $12 million funding for provider eSUB, a $2 million financing for Trust & Will and a $12 million Series B for PetDesk.

Additionally, over the last two years, Salaman represented San Diego-based investors in SaaS financings. Salaman represented the growth equity firm Blueprint Equity in a $8.4 million Series A with RocketRez, a Series A with Axela Technologies, a $6 million investment in CompanyCam and a $6 million investment in Sunwave.  Salaman also represented the startup accelerator LogicBoost Labs in its investments in BarPay, Scholars and Propel.
