Two Pillsbury corporate transactions have been selected by M&A Advisor as winning deals for its 11th Annual International M&A Awards. Established in 2009, the International M&A Awards celebrate excellence in global dealmaking by recognizing the leading international transactions, individuals, products and services, and firms from around the world. Winning transactions and advisors will be honored at M&A Advisor’s 2019 Global Corporate Growth Summit in New York on June 5.

In the Corporate/Strategic Deal of the Year ($100M - $250M) category, M&A Advisor recognized RhythmOne PLC’s $185 million acquisition of YuMe Inc. In that transaction, YuMe was advised by Corporate partners Jim Masetti, James Campbell and Christina Pearson, Investment Funds partner Sam Pearse, Tax partner C. Brian Wainwright, Benefits and Executive Compensation partner Cindy Schlaefer, Litigation and Antitrust partner Michael Sibarium, Securities Litigation & Enforcement partner Bruce Ericson, Litigation senior counsel Alvin Dunn, Corporate associate Julie Park, Intellectual Property attorney Paul Thomas and Antitrust attorney Evan Storm.

In the Restructuring Deal of the Year category, the organization selected Westinghouse Electric Co.’s restructuring and $4.6 billion acquisition by Brookfield Business Partners. The Pillsbury team providing strategic counsel to Brookfield on this market-leading transaction included Energy partners Jeffrey Merrifield, Jay Silberg, Elina Teplinsky and Michael Lepre, special counsel Timothy Walsh and senior associate Anne Leidich. Public Policy partner Elizabeth Moeller, senior counsel Gregory Laughlin and counsel Craig Saperstein, and Energy senior attorney Vince Zabielski also played critical roles in the transaction.
