Pillsbury has been named as the 2014 U.S. News - Best Lawyers’ “Law Firm of the Year” in Environmental Law. Each year, the publication recognizes only one law firm per legal practice area based on the firm’s performance on surveys of clients about work in the practice area, as well as feedback from peer practice area attorneys at other firms and information provided to U.S. News-Best Lawyers as part of its annual law firm rankings survey.
“We’re honored to be recognized for our capabilities and client service,” said Christopher McNevin, a Pillsbury partner and leader of the firm’s Environment, Land Use and Natural Resources practice.
“Pillsbury is fortunate to have a group of enormously talented, top-ranked environmental practitioners on the East, West and Gulf Coasts,” said McNevin, who works in the firm’s Houston, Austin and Los Angeles offices. “We have deep experience in counseling and compliance across the full spectrum of environmental regulation, as well as in litigation, investigative response, air quality and land use. Our group includes some fairly unique practices, including our Water Resources team, Crisis Management team, and Energy team, each of which draw from a variety of disciplines to provide the best available service to our clients.”
The U.S. News - Best Lawyers 2014 “Best Law Firms” survey also ranked Pillsbury’s Environmental practice in its Tier 1 at the national level, as well as at the metropolitan level in Houston, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
Pillsbury continues to earn top recognition with 70 Tier 1 rankings included in its overall 145 practice rankings. This year, Pillsbury added several new national rankings at the Tier 1 level, including Bankruptcy, Commercial Litigation, Employee Benefits, M&A, Real Estate and Tax Law.
Individual Lawyer Rankings
Three Pillsbury partners have been named among Best Lawyers’ 2014 Lawyers of the Year.
Best Lawyers has also released their annual list of individual attorneys selected by their peers. To be selected for Best Lawyers an attorney must be nominated and voted on by fellow peers in the profession.
